Slimy and scaly

I’ll likely spend the rest of the day fine-tuning stuff for the game tonight (8pm EST on Twitch), but before I get to all that – two more lizardfolk variants and a group of bullywugs cranked out for the next token pack.

A ghost, a lizardfolk, and a stirge walk into a bar …

I didn’t get quite as much done today as I would have liked (though I did get some good news – I start a new marketing job with the city theatre association next week), but what I did get done came out pretty nice. A couple of lizardfolk, two more ghosts, and a stirge.

A few more variations on the lizardfolk tomorrow, and then perhaps a bullywug or two. Or maybe I’ll dip into the outer planes and make a dretch or manes. What’s the singular on manes? Mane? Man? Mani?

The not-so itsy bitsy spiders

Another busy weekend almost behind us.

I spent the early afternoon yesterday (and today, once I had some glitches worked out) playing with some new API scripts for my Tuesday night Twitch/Roll20 5e D&D game. Then, it was off to officiate at a wedding an hour away.

Not much new artwork done, as you can imagine.

My Sunday was pretty busy as well, mostly with mundane household tasks. I did have time, though, to put together three giant spiders and the first of several ghosts.

Speaking of API Scripts – any recommendations? I picked up trackerjacker (which was the one glitching on me yesterday), a nice torch script, Bloodied and Dead, the NPC/Monster importer, and Group Initiative. I loaded in Area Mapper, but I haven’t been able to get it to work.

The shadow knows …

You know what? I decided that I didn’t like the way I was shadowing the tokens.

So I’m going through and fixing everything.

Left is old, right is new.

Thank god for Photoshop actions.

Hate seeing (and listening to) myself on video, but they say that people like videos, so there it is!

Something wicked this way comes – just in time for All Hallows’ Eve.

Yeah they’re dead they’re all messed up

The girlfriend had to verify to me that having the under 10-year old kid pretend to be a dead body so I could take pose reference photos was a perfectly normal thing to do.

The result? A variety of random dead bodies for the next pack – each pose will have three color variations and three gore levels – None, Mild, and Sam Raimi.

Twelve done so far, at least six more to come.

I also whipped up a hooded lantern (cause I needed one for my Roll20 campaign) but I forgot to include it in the image.

The Walking Tokens

I spent the early part of the day setting up the Patreon site (it’s basically a Kickstarter for artistic-types … by becoming a patron, you’re essentially saying “yes, I like your stuff and I want to help you make more of it”). Set your own price ($1, $3 … and, yes, even $0 is a price). The rewards – in this case, art resources – are just my way of saying THANKS in big capital letters.

Then, it was off to the cemetery. I put together nine new tombstones (thanks to a visit to a local cemetery to take some reference photos), and finished up on two more zeds. Also made a torch sconce and a lantern … just to break things up a bit.

The Halloween token pack is shaping up nicely. And bloody. Can’t wait to finish it up.

Raven & Blade is now on Patreon!

I’ve set up shop over at Patreon.com, so stop by and take a look!

Consider becoming a Patron! You’ll get way more bang for your buck by becoming a sponsor (even at the $1.00 a month level). Tons of content already uploaded and more coming out every week.
